What Is A Brother?

Brothers can be older or younger,

Even if they are your twin.

Older or younger, with a brother,

You never seem to win.

An older brother likes to pull rank,

And show you whose boss.

But in times of trouble,

He will defend his younger siblings,

No matter what the cost.

A younger brother is noisy, pesky

And nonstop wants to play,

No matter what you do or where you go,

He is always in your way.

Who our brothers are, we don't have a choice,

So, we accept them with pride and just rejoice.

The role of a brother changes, as he grows older,

His image of a sibling role model, becomes

More profound and bolder.

In a fatherless home, he would be

Cool to have around,

Role model image of a father,

Through him could be found.

Your brother can be your confidant, young or old,

Many secrets, between siblings have unfolded.

When you are friendless and need a friend,

A brother is there to comfort and befriend you,

Thru- thick or thin.

A brother listens to your problems,

When he has the time and you feel the need,

Some good advice he can give--Yes indeed!

As a sister, don't have a problem with

A boyfriend or husband, especially one he doesn't like,

His protective nature, will quickly tell that boyfriend to

"Go take a hike."

A brother can bring joy to a family,

Good hugs, laughs and fun

I thank God that he gave me several

Brothers and not just one.

I do thank God for my brothers; they have all enriched my life, and blessed my existence with their presence. Threw good times and bad, I know that I am not alone, I know that I am as loved as I love them and I know that I will always have someone to count on, as I pray they all know they have the same in me. Time is so short and life is so precious. Don't take one day for granted make sure your brother knows your love always exists. I pray that mine all do. Jimmy was taken from me when I was 10 years old, but the bond we shared was so strong and the love we shared was so great that, his memory will live with me till my dying day. Jimmy wherever you are:

Timothy:

You are smart, warm, loving, caring, & sweet.

You are always trying to make me feel good and brighten my day. And even though I don't always show it. You make my life complete. You help me when I need help, you encourage all things positive, you try harder then anyone I know. Your a great artist. And you are without a doubt a great brother. I am sorry for all the years I had to be a parent instead of a sister. Just know all that was ever said or done, was out of love for you. Thank you for never giving up. I am so very glad that you are in my life. I couldn't imagine life without you. Always know no matter what, I will always be here for you. Unless you come in at 4am with a hang over, then we have a problem buck-O! LOL No really no matter what, I will always be here for you bro.

Jimmy:

You may never read this, but others will.

Jimmy was my idol. He was strong, and brave he was smart and funny he was caring and loving and compassionate. He was dedicated and disciplined. He was 21 when he drew his last breath. A bullet took his life and destroyed my life and the lives of everyone who knew him. He was killed by his own hand literally. He went to a going away party his friends threw for him and he was so drunk that if the bullet had not killed him from the gun he feel asleep with, the alcohol had already. He was clinically brain dead from having over 110% of alcohol in his blood stream. He was a son, a brother and a father. He was a United States Marine and my idol. He taught me how to fight, how to be a lady, he taught me respect and honor and he taught me how to love and respect my parents. He took care of me, and was my play mate as a child, he was my teacher and best friend. Jimmy was my brother and I loved him more then life it's self. I was lucky enough to know this love and feel this love and share it with him. If you have a brother don't let a single day go by that you don't let them know you love them. Trust me in a blink of an eye they can be gone from your life forever. Thank God I have the brothers in my life I have now, without them to help fill that void of the most perfect and honest love that my brother Jim left with me, I know I couldn't survive. Jimmy I love you and you will always be a part of my heart & sole.
